Some thoughts about Superman #27
Is time to remember history. The Kent family is finally going into a vacation around the country but that doesn't mean that there isn't any work to do.
Well, this issue was interesting in some sort of ways.
Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason open a new storyarc that is apparently going to focus on the history about their country and in that regard, this is not really a bad job. The theme of the chapter in particularly is remembering the heroes that lost their lives for the nation and showing them the respect they deserve in several ways which is solidly complemented by the enjoyable family dynamics and appropriate characterization.
At some points it can get obviously preachy but doesn't reach obnoxious levels fortunately, that may be because the writers don't really want to push their own beliefs into others as much as they want to show empathy towards people who actually need their help and considering that this is Superman we're talking about, is pretty fitting.
Scott Godblewski handles the art and is really solid with a vibrant and expressive style that delivers attractive character models.
Entertaining overall, still one of my favorite reads.
