Can Cyborg stop a murder machine?

In another universe, Bruce Wayne was consumed by grief and became something that he always hated and Victor will have no other choice but to face him.

The tie-ins continue and fortunately this issue makes a better job at explaining its premise than the previous Red Death special.

Frank Tieri and James Tynion IV bring a story that explores yet another alternate version of Batman, one that obviously has a huge connection to Cyborg. As I mentioned before, I had a few problems with Batman: The Red Death because it didn't really make things clear about what Batman was the story about (either a different reality or the regular one), this tie-in on the other hand, makes it pretty clear thanks to the different styles implemented in the 2 different sections so you can easily tell which part belongs to the present and which to the past from another universe.

And the characterization manages to sell the idea nicely. The motivations for this particular Bruce Wayne are clear and the reasons for his transformation are much more understandable. Cyborg also gets a pretty solid portrayal which plays with his classic themes of humanity and his relationship with his father. The dialogue manages to depict all the characters pretty well too.

Riccardo Federici is in charge of the artwork and his style is pretty distinctive with a quite dark tone that is perfect for the script. He also manages to depict the segments of the story different enough to help the progression.

Solid issue overall, hope the next part of this crossover is just as good.
