Some thoughts about Justice League #36
Batman has gone mad.Someone is killing people in the name of the Bat and is up to the Justice League to figure out who the culprit is before is too late.
This is once again interesting yet flawed.
Christopher Priest continues his story about how the public is perceiving the team's image and Batman's role in all of this. The character work is pretty good since the cast acts based on their distinctive personalities and Priest implements some of their unique skills like Aquaman's status to stop conflicts while adding a few fun moments to make them look more human.
The addition of real life threats like the possibility of a war and how the world is starting to mistrusts their heroes is developed realistically enough and I hope this kind of direction continues since we haven't seen this in a while.
On the other hand, I have a few issues. At times the dialogue can be a bit off, not particularly bad but at times doesn't sound natural which is weird since this is Priest we're talking about. Also, the fact that he depicts Batman's mission as mostly motivated for revenge seems like he hasn't been paying attention of most of recent Batman stories.
Pete Woods' artwork is fantastic, beautiful characters, unique style and solid storytelling.
Quite compelling read but not perfect yet, let's see how it continues.
