Can Raven defeat the darkness inside of her?

Raven has been trying to live a normal life since she arrived to Earth but once that her father returns to her, everything in her world will change.

Boy, another Raven miniseries written by Marv Wolfman and as you might recall I didn't even finish covering the first one because of how boring it was. One would think that DC learned their mistakes with the first one but that's obviously not the case and sadly this one seems to be making the same mistakes.

The story opens decent enough with Raven having a good time with her friends (which I believe were introduced during the last miniseries) and they work fine enough, fortunately this time Wolfman doesn't make them talk like how he believes young people talk which apparently is going as over-the-top as possible with unrealistic slang (at least that doesn't happen as much here). Although there are a few issues that I've with the characterization, particularly Raven's who doesn't really have much personality beyond her complicated background, I would have prefered if she had the sarcastic tone of the Teen Titans' cartoon but that's not happening here, she's just bland.

About the story, is nothing to talk about. Is yet another story about Trigon coming back for his daughter while Wolfman is introducing a new character who I don't find interesting enough to be invested into. This is sad because even the last miniseries had a more compelling beginning than this one.

Pop Mhan's artwork is pretty solid though thanks to his expressive characters and clean style.

Aside from that, you can perfectly skip this one and I'm sure as hell will. I just checked that this is a 12 issue miniseries and there's no way I'm going to endure 11 chapters of the same dull stuff.
