Kate and Clint are trying to survive the attack of Madame Masque but even if they win, things are far from over.
Well, things are apparently over for now and is a true shame since this is easily one of the best Hawkeye runs that I've ever read and most definitely the best featuring Kate Bishop.
Since the beginning, Kelly Thompson has demonstrated a great expertise at giving Kate an unique voice that is perfectly on-point with previous portrayals while at the same time making her more likable and entertaining than ever, this is basically the kind of "everywoman" take that goes along with her counterpart Clint Barton which demonstrates how similar and close they are. This nicely shown during the engaging action scenes and the fun banter between the protagonists.
This issue closes the door to a few plot-points that Thompson created during this run but not all, in fact I would say that it sets-up many new ideas that will most likely be explored in the relaunch of the book in August of this year and I really hope that's the case because there are pretty interesting sub-plots like the fate of Kate's parents and the rest of her cast.
Leonardo Romero remains in art duties and his work has been stellar since the beginning thanks to his beautiful characters, clean style and immensely precise storytelling that made the script even better.
Great stuff and I hope the following book is just as good.
