Nightwing's absense has affected the team in many ways but the arrival of Kyle Rayner might help them to get back on track again.
I don't know if this is enough to get back on track again quite frankly.
As I've mentioned before, the constant editorial interferences has affected this book since the beginning and recently they had to address Nightwing's loss of memory, Roy and Wally's deaths and the latest crossover Drowned Earth. The title barely has any room to tell its own story and I don't envy Dan Abnett's position since this is a really frustrating situation.
That being said, there are a few interesting additions here. The inclusion of Kyle Rayner into the team is kinda logical since he was part of the group briefly during the 90s, not to mention that his relationship with Donna seems to be kinda addressed here and their dynamic seems on-point so far. The reference about the connection between Beast Boy and The Red is also a nice callback to the early days of the New 52.
Sadly, there are a few lame scenes like a vomit one that is supposed to be... "funny" I guess? But it seems rather out of place considering how serious the story has been all this time.
Clayton Henry and Brent Peeples share the pencils and their work is fairly consistent during the whole chapter with a pretty vibrant tone.
Not bad, not great, let's see how it continues.
