Metropolis is being destroyed and people are starting to die, all of this seems to be connected to an organization that is decided to take over the world.
This worked much better than the last one all right.
Brian Bendis offers a new chapter where he explores more of the world around Metropolis and I believe this is the reason why this book is better than Bendis' own run on the Superman title. Instead of focusing on bad characterization for both Jon and Lois, Bendis decides to explore what happens in Metropolis and the many people who are part of it. Director Bones receives a good appearance that showcases his entertaining personality and his important role in the city while Jimmy Olsen gets an interesting scene(Mind you, not as interesting as in the cover since that one is a lie and reinforces my idea that Bendis' runs are changing along the way).
The plot also progresses more here. Amanda Waller's role in the story is getting clearer and her dynamic with Sam Lane is depicted effectively. The issue also does a solid job at creating a sense of escalation for Leviathan's inevitable arrival.
Steve Epting handles the art and is really good looking thanks to his soft style and strong storytelling.
