Who can stop the Lords of Order?

Zatanna and Wonder Woman have decided to ask Mordru for help in this battle but that won't be easy to get and so they will have to find another means to defeat their enemies.

Well, this suffers from some of the classic problems.

James Tynion IV delivers a new chapter where he progresses the plot adequately. There are different scenarios where the power of the Lord of Orders is demonstrated and showcase how each member of the cast react to their actions and their respective plans to face them. That makes it a decently packed read and this is pretty common in Tynion's works at the very least.

What is also common in Tynion's work though, is how both misunderstands characters and tries to overcompensate for characterization. Let's take for example Mordru here, he's portrayed as an utterly powerful being who can completely defeat both Wonder Woman and Zatanna which hasn't been the case in any previous appearances until now and thus, makes this depiction feel off but what makes it even worse is that Tynion once again demonstrates that he doesn't understand that making a character more powerful doesn't make them more interesting, Mordru keeps saying: "Oh, the universe obeys my orders!" but really, that is not a true personality nor compelling backstory, it just seems like Tynion is trying really hard to sell the character without an actual justification for it.

Not to mention that Mordru asks Wonder Woman if she hates him and she answers "Yes" when the actual response should have been "No, I don't hate anybody, I'm Wonder Woman". Little detail maybe but it still struck me as wrong.

Alvaro Martinez' art is amazing though with a beautiful and gothic style that makes the plot much, much better.

Mixed bag. Let's hope this concludes well at least.
