Some thoughts about The Green Lantern #8

Green Lantern and Green Arrow together again to face a common foe.

Hal has arrived to Earth to pay a visit to Ollie only to realize that Ollie's life might not be as normal as he expected.

Grant Morrison delivers the classic Green Lantern/Green Arrow team-up in a way that makes a lot of sense.

Speaking as a true Green Arrow fan, I must say that I really enjoyed his role in this installment despite that I'm not particularly fond of the Dennis O'Neil/Neal Adams' era. Still, I recognize that it was a highly influential time and Morrison does a great job at referencing it like when Hal contemplates the paints at Ollie's home and says "This is an original Adams right?" and of course, the fact that they have to deal with a drug from cosmic proportions. The characterization for Ollie was solid here since it focuses on his ability as an archer and how he doesn't sees the world black and white, mind you, I believe there's more to explore beyond that but for a guest portrayal it was fine enough.

And of course, this wouldn't be Morrison if this didn't involve obscure weird concepts like the appearance of Xeen Arrow who was a Green Arrow character from the Silver Age who lived in Dimension Zero and is implemented appropriately in the story. The story concludes with someone I've been personally waiting for and I wonder how Morrison will use him.

Liam Sharp's pencils are really on-point here and you can just notice that he's highly evoking Neal Adams' style from a character perspective, pretty appropriate.

Good stuff, can't wait for the next one.
