Several deities are trying to get used to the quite life in Amnesty Bay but this might be harder than expected and Arthur will have to find a way to fix everything.
An Annual has arrived and while I have found Kelly Sue DeConnick's run here pretty boring for the most part, I thought this was a fine issue.
Accompanied by Vita Ayala, DeConnick tells a story suited in the middle of the Year of the Villain event that uses it in a different way from most of the other books. It turns out that the people from Amnesty Bay are getting nervous for the whole sign in the sky and Arthur has to deal with it along with the Gods he brought last time. The slice of life aspects of deities trying to have a normal life is always enjoyale and the writers manage to get a few fun scenes along with good dynamics with the rest of the people.
Salty "The Aquadog", also has a kinda important role here and speaking as fan of dogs, I loved seeing her here and she does participate in a heartwarming story with one of the Gods who also serves to create more character work for Arthur.
Victor Ibañez handles the art and is solid with expressive characters and a clean style.
Good read, can't believe I'm saying this.
