Barbara is trying to work with her newfound feelings for Jason but she has no time now that a strange metal is infecting people.
Worked a little better than the last one but just a little.
I wasn't a fan of Cecil Castellucci's last story because it was pretty much all "I'm going to let this old lady die because I have a girl boner for this hot guy" but fortunately there's not a lot of wrong here. Sure, the romance between Babs and Jason is still pretty heavyhanded and in fact, a lot of the dialogue can be heavyhanded but the plot itself has potential.
The story focuses on how a businesswoman is creating a source of energy at the cost of human lives and it's pretty interesting in and of itself and while the writer's narration is far from subtle, it explains enough the context of such theme. There's a complaint though, that Batwoman appears out of nowhere and while I love Kate, I barely understand the purpose of her cameo here, not to mention there's a very forced fight between her and Batgirl.
Carmine Di Giandomenico handles the art and is still really good in terms of storytelling and style although for some reason, it depicts the battle between Kate and Babs as... weirdly erotic? I don't know if this was his or Castellucci's idea but still, what?
Overall, not bad, not great, let's see how it continues.
