Can Hal Jordan save his old friends?

Hal is spending time on Earth after so long but now his pilot partners have been strangely missing and the only way to save them is by returning to his roots.

Well, first of all, I'm glad to be back after the quarentine affected the whole world to the point of stopping the release of weekly comics. I was getting a bit anxious.

Second of all, this is an appropriate way to start my weekly opinions once again.

Grant Morrison returns as well with yet another mostly stand-alone story about Hal Jordan. This wouldn't be a Morrison script if he didn't reference old material and so he brings back Cowgirl of all characters which is a bit surprising since she's not that old, she was created by Geoff Johns at the beginning of his Green Lantern run in fact. That being said, it also makes sense since Morrison apparently wants to write every single love interest Hal had and it's also cool to have her back considering how neglected she was by Johns himself after he decided that Hal and Carol were the OTP.

Morrison also brings back Hal's career as a pilot (which was also neglected by himself during the entire previous Season) in a way that makes sense and references a few more old concepts while combining them with the classic Green Lantern job. Sadly, while this is a decent enough story, it doesn't become anything memorable in terms of either themes or plot, nothing wrong with telling a simplistic tale but this is more of the course for Morrison's work this Season.

Liam Sharp handles the art and he goes for a more realistic look here which is kinda fitting for the plot I guess and follows the script decently but I still don't like the style that much.

Not bad, not great, passable I guess.
