Joker is bringing his biggest plans to Gotham City and now Bruce will have to realize what he needs to do to face him.
Okay, this worked a little better.
James Tynion IV delivers a chapter that serves as a prologue to the upcoming event Joker War. I still believe that such direction reeks of creative bankruptcy and it most definitely is since the best parts of this issue are the ones not dedicated to such plot-point. The early flashback pages where Tynion introduces an old teacher of Bruce to taught him how to become a better detective are pretty well-done and easily the most interesting thing he has written so far, not to mention that the preparation for the attack that Bruce is facing is also nicely presented with a classic reference to old stories.
Not perfect of course since this all needs to depend on the already mentioned derivative storyline and for some reason Tynion had the necessity to reference Tom King's infamous "Bat, Cat" dynamic but they don't particularly ruin the read.
Guillem March and Rafael Albuquerue handle the art and is wonderful for the most part, being able to depict a really dark look during their respective scenes.
Solid read, not sure how things will continue though.
