Some thoughts about The Flash #759
Who is The Fastest Man Alive now?
The Reverse-Flash has possessed Barry now and is willing to take over his whole life no matter if he has to destroy his family to do so.
Man, the continuity love is abundant here!Joshua Williamson offers a new installment where he continues to explore the idea of Thawne taking over Barry's life and body. Williamson is not afraid to recognize that this premise is not particularly new but that's the great thing about it, he actually references a lot of The Flash's history, not only from Barry but from the entire family of Speedsters. From the time when Thawne killed Iris, to The Return of Barry Allen, to the present, the respect for everything that happened before is clear and that's one of the biggest reasons why I love Williamson's work so much.
But thinks don't end there since the writer even reintroduces characters like Max Mercury and Jesse Quick with an explanation about why they were lost for so long, not to mention that there's a fan-favorite who reappears at the end too. However, one of my favorite moments is when Williamson makes Thawne interact with Bart where the former tells the later how much of a failure he was by returning to being Impulse after being Kid Flash and even mentions the time when Bart was actually The Flash! I'm really glad that part of history is not lost after all.
Rafa Sandoval and Scott Kolins share the pencils and their work is pretty solid during their respective segments with a lot of detail.
Great read, hope the next one follows this trend.
