Who is the true Joker?

The Criminal believes the next Joker should be someone who has a close connection to Batman but Bruce knows that he needs to get over that to stop both him and the Comedian.

This series has come to an end and, while is not as relevant as I was initially expecting, it turned out to be a rather satisfying little story.

Geoff Johns finishes the book he has been working on for years now in a way that is not as continuity defining as his other titles but manages to still get some of his classic twists. The central premise is about forgiving and getting better in one way or another, this is clearly seen in Barbara, Jason, the Jokers and especially Bruce, the latter's characterization is particularly emphasized because of the role that Joe Chill has in this story, one that I saw coming because of the depiction he had early on and manages to create a new way to look at the man who murdered the Waynes while also giving Bruce a heartwarming interaction with him. Funnily enough, the story ended-up being more about Bruce and Joe than about Batman and the Joker which I guess is something nobody could have predicted.

The typical interaction between Batman and the Joker is present though and, while it doesn't really anything particularly new, it still seems pretty on-point and it comes with an interesting twist towards the end that goes way back to Alan Moore's Killing Joke, giving a completely new background to the scenario and makes what happened in the last issue more understandable.

Jason Fabok's artwork is still great with a powerful storytelling style and extremely expressive characters.

Solid finale. Nothing groundbreaking but solid nonetheless.
