Whatever happened to the Green Lantern Corps?

In a future where the Green Lantern Power Rings stopped working, their owners will have to learn to survive without them in an universe that is willing to kill them.

Another Future State tie-in is here and I must say that this is thankfully another consistent entry.

The main story written by Geoffrey Thorne is about John Stewart and his group fighting against an horde of aliens. One of the highlights is that the writer uses a few usually ignored characters like G'Nort and actually portrays him in an interesting way, in fact, the characterization is pretty on-point for the most part with the theme of survival being pretty prominent and John being depicted as a competent leader although at times, that's sadly not enough.

Tom Raney's artwork is pretty good with expressive characters and strong action scenes, I was missing his style.

The following tale is written by Ryan Cady about Jessica Cruz finally overcoming her anxiety in a time of despair. This appropriately uses the Sinestro Corps and the antagonists while showcasing how strong Jessica can be and providing a surprising ending that feels adequate as well. Solid plot and characterization. Speaking of artists I have been missing, it was great to see Sami Basri again, his characters are beautiful and expressive while the storytelling is precise.

The final segment is about Guy Gardner also losing his powers in a strange planet and is probably my favorite of the bunch due that Ernie Altbacker manages to create a compelling and fun tale about Guy teaching civilization to an alien race that is perfectly fitting for his character and also gets nice reference like Guy's Warrior t-shirt. Clayton Henry's pencils are pretty vibrant.

Overall, a really solid read. Hope the next ones follow this trend.
