Whatever happened to Billy Batson?

Shazam has gone to hell to ask Neron for a favor, something that could allow him to complete his mission the best way possible no matter the cost.

We return to the Future State timeline to explore what happened to Shazam after all these years and is actually an interesting premise despite of the sometimes wonky execution.

Tim Sheridan returns to write another Future State tie-in and after the extremely mediocre Teen Titans one, I wasn't really anticipating more works from him. That being said, the idea of Shazam having his own team of heroes and dealing with some of the worst supervillains in the planet is pretty solid. Not to mention that is an interesting twist at the end, something that puts everything that happened in perspective and the writer deals with such development in interesting manners for the main character.

However, Sheridan's writing is not exactly great, mostly because he uses one of the worst ticks to reinforce an idea over an issue: Repetition. "I'm not Billy" gets mentioned more times than it should and yes, I know something is happening at this point, you can stop now. Aside from that, there's not much to complaint about, there are intriguing set-ups and it was cool to see Bunker and Tanya Spears/Power Girl again.

Eduardo Pansica handles the art and is pretty solid with expressive characters and a vibrant look.
