What is Hal Jordan's greatest relationship?

Hector Hammond is ready to take revenge on Hal once for all and he has took the Power Ring to do so but he wasn't prepared for the connection Hal and the ring had.

Okay, I will eat my words here, while the last issue didn't feel like it was continuing the theme of the book, this finale definitely did and thankfully did it wonderfully and much more successfully than Season One.

It might be because Grant Morrison didn't want to continue writing Green Lantern and so he wasn't pulling-off a Scott Snyder "This conclusion is just a set-up for THE NEXT BIG STORY!" but this final chapter is an actual resolution for the main concept of this Season: Love.

As I mentioned since the beginning, Morrison's plan was to reintroduce every single love interest Hal had over the course of his history and while issue 10 seemed like the logical conclusion to that with the appearance of Carol Ferris and all, this one actually explains the reasons behind this direction and why Hal's relationships never last, because he has only one true love and that is the Power Ring.

The idea is further emphasized by the appearance of Hector Hammond who initially seemed like a poor final antagonist but on the other hand he perfectly exemplifies the "toxic man" who only treats women like objects and envies any other who has more luck with them which of course, is defeated by how respectful Hal is to his main love interest. Is just the perfect resolution for what the book has been all about.

This wouldn't be a Morrison title without the usual comic references like Hal's old enemies coming back, other characters being modernized as edgy versions of themselves, some social commentary in the form of online insults (and Morrison doesn't really go for any side here, he literally throws words like "Nazi" and "TERF" in the same vein) and all this comes in a couple final pages that feel fitting for Hal.

Liam Sharp once again demonstrates how flexible he is at storytelling showcasing many wonderful panels that depict the bizarre script as precisely as possible and even elevating it even more.

Fantastic finale, this is what I wanted from Morrison all along.
