Where or when is Wally West?
Wally has been transported to the future being reincarnated in no one else but his nephew, Bart Allen. Now along with Gold Beetle, he will have to find a way to save this era and return to his own.
This run goes on and sadly, I still don't find it that appealing.Jeremy Adams brings a new chapter where he follows-up the cliffhanger of the last one with Wally finding himself in Bart's body which admitedly, is an interesting premise in and of itself. The setting allows for a few compelling references like the Dominators, Inertia and Bart's character as a whole while the story progresses at a pretty fast pace for the most part. Not to mention that there's yet another cliffhanger much more interesting than the last one that plays with the sort of reincarnation theme the run is going for.
On the other hand, I'm still not a fan of the dialogue which can be rather bland at times and at worst, kinda cringey (especially when it tries to make Wally sound "funny"). Plus, the other sections with Barry and the rest of cast trying to figure out what happened to Wally can be pretty slow-paced and dull.
David Lafuente's semi-cartoony artstyle is full of emotion but I don't think is that fitting for The Flash due that it lacks a certain energy. At least is better than Brandon Perterson's whose work, while fine, is too conventional for the book.
Not bad, not great but let's see what happens next.
