Some thoughts about The Human Target #2
Who is the murderer in the Justice League International?
Christopher's investigation about who would want to kill Lex Luthor leads him to one of the most mysterious members of an old incarnation of the Justice League but this might be much more dangerous than he imagined.
Getting a bit more interesting.Tom King offers a new installment in which he plays with continuity in a surprisingly appropriate manner. Yes, King is not exactly the most trustworthy writer to deal with classic continuity but I thought his way of handling Tora/Ice from the JLI was nicely done. King actually references many important points from her history including her silly days at the JLI, her mythical origin and even the retcon created by Judd Winick before the New 52 happened, her death and resurrection too to boot. There was actual research here.
Mind you, the characterization can be a little dubious since I have never seen Tora acting so... seductive and I feel like this is one of King's cases of "changing characterization for the sake of the plot/themes" which I'm never a fan of but on the other hand, is not like Tora had many compelling stories in a while to actually care about a little change in characterization and the mystery seems intriguing so far (I just hope it ends-up being actually satisfying and with King you never know).
Greg Smallwood's artwork is amazing with a precise storytelling skill the follows the script perfectly and elevates it to another level, the style being beautiful certainly helps.
Decent read, hope to see more continuity references.
