Some thoughts about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #6
Can Supergirl finally take her revenge?
Kara has found Krem of the Yellow Hills and is going to make him pay for what he did to Krypto but not before remembering an important part of her past.
Yeah, this is the kind of issue that tricks you.At first it seems like for a little bit Tom King was going to get rid to the tiring heavyhanded narration that has been so prominent during this series but unfortunately, things quickly go back to normal with overwrought narration boxes that take most of the page. Again, it seems like King really wanted to push a different writing style really hard like he does with each new series but once again, he didn't think well how good that would work on paper and so, we get a book that gets quickly repetitive and tedious.
And is not like there isn't interesting aspects here. Kara's background offers new insights about her character and it was especially intriguing to see what happened to her mother (and it was great to see Comet the Superhorse too) but on the other hand, I don't know why this had to take place in the middle of facing the main antagonist they have been hunting all this time and thus, putting plot progress at hold.
Bilquis Evely remains in art duties and once again, no complaints whatsover here, her artstyle is a joy to watch and makes each scene beautiful but I wish she was working on a better story.
Getting more and more disappointing. Only two issues left I guess.
