Is this the end for Blue & Gold?
Booster & Beetle's popularity is bigger than ever but that has also gained the worst kind of attention once that the alien who they have been fighting all this time comes with a much greater plan.
Still solid in a very classic kind of way.Dan Jurgens offers a new installment where he continues this character-oriented work. Once again, the story is centered around Ted and Michael getting so famous to the point where they can barely handle it and this allows for a few entertaining moments because of the crazy customers they receive and even delivers charming moments when a couple of fans of the protagonists meet each other. Is just the kind of old-school fun that you can expect from a writer like Jurgens.
There's also decent amount of content because of the plot progression thanks to the involvement of Rip Hunter (another character linked to Booster, I love how Jurgens is bringing back the character's history) and the rise of the alien threat that both protagonists are forced to face. Is nothing to be taken seriously and I kinda miss that kind of thing in today's comics.
Ryan Sook handles the art and is still pretty great thanks to the expressive characters and vibrant look that follows the script perfectly.
Fun read, hope the next one offers more story progression.
