Can Superman save the whole city?

Jon has been put in a very troublesome situation thanks to Henry Bendix, a situation where people's lives are in peril and even if he saves most of them, he will still consider himself a failure.

Yeah, that's the whole point of this Superman isn't it?

So, I've been waiting for an issue that went a little different for this series, something that could actually progress the plot instead of trying to give pointless "political" commentary to fill-up the pages and hey, the story kinda moves here!... That doesn't mean it's devoid of the other problems though.

A Leviathan creature has risen from the sea (Because of its contamination of course because we have to make a point) and is threatening to sink Metropolis. This creates a very strong dilemma for Jon because he has to choose between the life of a creature who is just doing what feels natural for it and the rest of the city. Not to mention that this is exploited by the likes of Henry Bendix to convince people and gain power by creating a conflict with Metahumans. So, yeah there are a few important plot-points here.

That is of course, until you realize that this is made more complicated than it should be because Tom Taylor simply can't write actual political commentary worth a damn. The "dilemma" that Jon suffers is mostly centered around not killing the creature but he could have easily carry it or push him (Yes, I don't buy Taylor's "It would be like a needle going through flesh" excuse, he's frikking Superman for God's sake! Clark has done stuff like that before!), so yeah, this problem was made much bigger than it should have been and for that reason people have died because yes, you want to make this about animal rights and all I guess but once that people's lives are in peril, the choice should become pretty obvious.

... So, in a sense, Taylor proved Bendix right at how he should have handled the monster, Jesus Christ is Taylor terrible at this.

Cian Tormey handles the art and is not the most pleasent to see, it's kinda rough at times although at least it follows the script fine.

Yeah, I still don't like where this is going and I doubt things are gonna change.
