What happened to the Joker?

It seems like Bruce is hallucinating after he escaped prison and all of this involves his oldest enemy. However, this might actually help him to protect Gotham City after even his own family is against him.

This story continues in a pretty solid manner but not without a few issues.

Sean Murphy delivers a new chapter where he explores more about what makes this future different. The new dynamic between Derek Powers and Terry McGinnis presents an interesting contrast compared to what we saw in the Batman Beyond show and creates intriguing possibilities for the future, not to mention that this more flawed take on Bruce Wayne could mean that Powers is not as bad as Bruce say it is. More important though, Murphy finds a way to reintroduce the Joker in a way that makes a lot of sense, particularly because this is based on the Beyond universe and connects perfectly to what we saw in the movie Return of the Joker.

That being said, I have some problems here. I appreciate the return of Jack in a sense but at the same time, he can be kinda annoying at times and I hope that the writer doesn't overuse his constant, well, "jokes" to the point they become infuriating. Plus, I don't know if I buy the hate that Dick Grayson has against Bruce considering how they were portrayed in this same universe before, there's something off about it.

Murphy's artwork remains amazing with his now classic grim and gritty style that depicts every scene with a lot of detail.
