Is this really the end?

The Lost Light needs to find a way to save the universe and to do so they will have to find out if they're considered good enough to be saved.

I guess this a decent penultimate chapter?

James Roberts is about to conclude his long-term story and brings a few plot-points together. The idea about how all the Autobots need to use the Matrix of Leadership to save the universe from a destroying planet hits all the right tones if you're familiar with the original 1986 movie. Not to mention that the fact that all of them don't necessarily have to be the best but "good enough" is an appropriate way to give closure to this particular group.

... That being said, I still have a few issues. While the idea concerning the Matrix is adequate, I still feel like everything happens a bit too fast and for that matter is not that satisfying of a resolution. Not to mention that some "relationships" come out of nowhere like apparently Brainstorm and Nautica, yes, they did have some chemistry during the previous book, but it didn't feel like they were interested in a romantic way, not to mention that in Lost Light they didn't have enough interactions to justify this turn of events.

Brendan Cahill handles the artwork and while his cartoony style is pleasent to look at, is not enough for a bombastic finale that this series deserved and might be one of the reasons why it doesn't feel as powerful.

"Good enough"? Yeah, good enough, let's leave at that.
