Criminals in Gotham have gotten used to Bane's new regime and they might not be ready once that the city's true protector returns.
Not a bad chapter but my God, deliver some content already.
Tom King offers a new installment where he focuses on Batman taking over Gotham once again. There are a few things to like here like the portrayal of a few of the villains, particularly some of the obscure ones like Mad Hatter which seem to fit with King's weird dialogue at the very least, the rest also get a few fun scenes.
HOWEVER, this is still an extremely decompressed chapter that barely progresses the main plot. Some of the scenes are enjoyable but go too fast and the issue ends before you even realize that is over. I just wish that there was actual bang for your buck in this series (then again, I'm not expecting much from King's run obviously). Not to mention that King has overdone the whole "Kiteman's Hell Yeah" joke to the point that I think I don't want to see him in a while.
John Romita Jr. handles the art and his rough style is pretty fitting for the grim and gritty tone of the story. Good work.
Mixed bag overall but I was expecting worse actually.
