How is every day in Batman's life?

Alfred has been keeping up a diary about Bruce's adventures and there's nobody who knows the Caped Crusader better than him.

A new Annual has arrived and I'm actually surprised this run and titles have lasted for so long with the less than stellar quality. That being said, Tom King manages to surprisingly deliver an interesting here.

Told from Alfred's perspective, we see the multiple different quests that Batman endures every single day and they all vary from ordinary to extraordinary. The weird and bizarre adventures are interesting to see like Batman chasing a criminal over the rooftops of Gotham City riding a horse, fighting a dragon and visiting a strange dimension are mixed with the most classic tales like fighting an abuser, solving a murder mystery and trying to find love. They all work shockingly well despite of the different tones and it makes me wonder why we haven't seen these stories in the whole run considering that they're way more interesting than anything King himself has done.

If there's an issue that someone could have is that this is yet another instance where King uses narration to explain a situation instead of letting the story speak for itself but still, the scenes manage to convey those segments better than past cases and the narration still creates a few compelling character moments.

Jorge Fornes and Mike Norton share the pencils and their work is pretty solid with a style that feels both modern and classic.

Finally a good read, not sure what to expect next though.
