How could Lois Lane handle the death of Superman?

In another universe where Superman died, Lois decided to continue his legacy in the worst way possible.

Another Dark Multiverse one-shot arrives and while I was pleasently surprised with the Knightfall one, this leaves a lot to be desired.

Jeff Loveness offers a story suited around the 90s event Death of Superman but with the clear difference that Lois took it much worse, so much worse that it seems rather out of character. In fact, the Lois in here is pretty quick to blame everyone, including the heroes for the death of Clark which is a rather abrupt accusation and portrays Lois as an overly-emotional women and this would only get worse since once she gains Superman's powers she quickly becomes a fascist and starts killing criminals, dealing with governments and even murdering a few heroes. This is such an extreme characterization that just seems off and at times kinda problematic.

There are a few things to enjoy here like how unmistakenly 90s the story is, particularly because of the time where the issue is suited since we see a few staples like Ma and Pa Kent, red haired young Lex Luthor, mentions of Matrix Supergirl along with the appearance of Steel and Superboy, it fulfills your nostalgia. Plus, a few character moments are cool like how the way Superman saw Batman but they're just very little to compensate how bad this handles the main character.

If there's something I can totally appreciate are Brad Walker's pencils that manage to evoke the style of the era, particularly Dan Jurgens' style, perfectly to the point that it would easily seem that it came out straight from that period.

Disappointing overall, hopefully the next one is better.
