Some thoughts about DCeased: Unkillables #3

Can the last people on Earth survive?

The infected have entered the orphanage and the remaining heroes and villains will have to do anything in their power to protect the children but not all of them will make it.

This spinoff miniseries comes to a conclusion and just like the main book, proved to be a solid story.

Tom Taylor uses this final chapter to provide a resolution for this particular storyarc while also providing a beginning for a new one. First of all, I enjoy the development Taylor is doing for this universe with each one-shot and miniseries being self-contained stories that are also part of a bigger narrative, kinda reminds me of Garth Ennis' Crossed, still gory but without the most disgusting stuff.

The plot escalates quickly with each new page increasing the suspense about who will live and who will die, and all of this gets much worse once that Wonder Woman enters the scene. The character moments are well-executed for the most part with each member of the cast having a solid scene at least and I must say that I especially digged Cheetah here in her interactions with the children and Wonder Woman.

I must say though, that I'm still not that much of a fan of Taylor's characterization as a whole which can be sort simplistic and mostly scratches the surface of each hero and villain (and even then he can get some details badly). Still, the story is enjoyable, offers a few surprises and leads to an interesting new plot-point.

Karl Mostert handles the art and is pretty fitting for the tone of the story, being able to depict each violent and personal scene with a lot of detail.

Fine finale overall, hope to see more of this universe soon.
