How can Red Hood face a loved one?

Essence has possessed Isabel and now is willing to bring back one of the biggest evils this world has seen.

This book returns and not in the best way sadly.

Scott Lobdell offers a new installment where he continues his plot-point concerning the return of Essence but doesn't do it in the most satisfying way. Mostly in terms of actual content because quite a few scenes of this issue are dedicated to flashbacks of stuff we already know while the rest is devoted to action scenes that are not that interesting to see.

The plot is quite light because of that and you get to the end rather quickly with the promise of a bigger threat in the next issue but not much beyond that. A few decent character moments here and there but nothing special.

Paolo Pantalena handles the art and is solid with detailed character models and strong action scenes.

Average overall, hope the next one is better.
