Some thoughts about Batgirl #48
Can Batgirl handle being on a wheelchair again? The recent attack by the Joker has left Barbara severely injured to the point which she can't use her legs, this is not her only problem though since a mysterious new case has appeared in front of her.
Well, this was solved rather quickly.Cecil Castellucci plays with the ramifications of her Joker War crossover with Batgirl losing her legs once again because of the Clown Prince of Crime. Mind you, this is not really that important of a plot-point because Babs is able to walk again almost immediately and with very little effort needed. In fact the only reason why I believe this was made is to create drama between Barbara, Jim and James Gordon, drama by the way that I really don't like since it still tries to present Jim on a bad light for some reason.
There's not much of a plot here and the narration is still way overwritten to the point it reminds me of Scott Snyder's and James Tynion IV's work (and that's not good). Mind you, is cool that Luke Fox returned to Babs' life in a logical way and that their history was referenced.
Robbi Rodriguez handles the art and is pretty solid with expressive characters and a flexible style that allows for interesting storytelling.
Mixed thoughts, not if was worth it.
