Who can win in a battle between lovers?

Hal and Carol are facing versions of themselves from the universe where gender roles are reversed. Now all of them will have to fight together if they want to survive.

This is pretty much the climax that Grant Morrison has been building-up despite of not being the conclusion of the book itself.

The chapter is focused on the battle between the two versions of Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris as advertised but Morrison gives it a few interesting twists here and there. Is pretty intriguing to see how in this particular alternate universe women are the ones in power which leads to fun moments of literal reverse sexism where Carol keeps being patronizing towards her Hal while also being weirdly overly-protective ("You can threaten a man like that!"). This is just a set-up to the big fight they all have to face which is yet another set-up for the upcoming final battle, I'm cool with this as long as Morrison doesn't pull yet another Scott Snyder like in Season 1.

The writer actually continues to develop many plot-points and themes including the ongoing trial against Hyperman and his family with all of them reacting in a different way (Hyperboy fitting in the gender theme since he doesn't feel content with the one that has been assigned to him). Everything concludes with the long-awaited reunion between Hal and Carol (Considering how many of Hal's romantic interests have appeared) and, based on their complicated history, I think the resolution felt appropriate.

Liam Sharp continues to experiment with his artstyle and his work keeps getting more creative everytime. Many different tones that compliment the script appropriately.
